Back to some photos...

Don't worry, I'm still all about the cake. 


But I still <3 photography...and last week I treated myself to a wide-angle and macro converter for my camera (genius invention! Bravo Polaroid...)

I had a little play today - to see if the macro part was any good.....

A Cake for my Dad...

I decided to use Father's Day as a prime opportunity to make a big cake with a topper.

So here is is.

Not bad for a first attempt!

And here is my Dad looking pretty chuffed with it :)

Victoria Sponge (quite fitting really!) with buttercream and royal icing.

Personal Cakes....

Like I said, I made some cakes for some of my peeps this week. And as I have given them all (but one...sorry Sarah, I'll make you a fresh one..) away, here they are.

   

Chocolate text...I was going to stick them in the buttercream (like the one below) but the colours blended & it looked rubbish. So they got a gooey chocolate one instead.

Duckduck. (I have never seen a cake recieve so much attention as when I showed the Normans this one...)

I am also working on a big cake at the moment....it's a surprise for someone, so you'll just have to wait. But it is pretty cool. 

Annnnd my sugar flowers are coming along very nicely...next week we are wiring up the lily. I'm a trifle concerned about that one (ridonk delicate), but it's going to look awesome when it's done.

Fancy Cakes

So this week I decided to try something a little bit different...today we have gooey bitter chocolate-coffee cupcakes...they are like pudding in the middle *yum*. 

These ones have a very gooey glossy chocolate topping (under the flowers..)

And these have a delicious buttercream topping with weeny chocolate butterflies.

I have also made some personalised ones this week (it was mega production day yesterday!), but as I haven't given them to their respective owners yet, you'll have to wait.

I am going to eat some cake. Yum.

Cake diddly cake cake cake....

The latest in the *insert company name here* production.

Orange crunch cake, with buttercream flower and homemade chocolate leaf (with edible lustre powder to make it look puuuuuuurdy)

Yumyumyum.

I have a busy weekend ahead - have been "asked" (ha) to make some for Olly G and famile, and Hannah desperately wants to try them (she wants to sell them in the garden!).

So these are the latest results from my Sugarcraft class...not bad, huh?

Damn fiddly to make but the outcome is pretty good. So good in fact, that Nadia (our teacher) took one of mine to show the rest of the class...*megatronic blushing*)

Next week I might have a lily to show you...
